Crazy Running Northern Virginia (NOVA)

Our program is designed to help develop coordination and athleticism in young kids. No matter what sport your kids are getting ready for, running can get them in great condition and help them become balanced, well-rounded athletes. We teach the fundamentals using structured practices, form drills, running specific exercises, and running specific plyometrics. We believe in teaching kids to run correctly, being challenged aerobically each practice, and having fun with running games designed to bring out the competitive spirit.

Tykes; Ages 3-5: Our Tykes are working on building coordination, stamina and focus all while playing FUN Crazy Running games!

JR Crazy Runners; Ages 5-7:  We focus on getting kids moving and making exercise fun! Runners will be introduced to simple strength exercises, fundamental running techniques, and play games that provide a kid-friendly cardio workout!

Upperclassmen Crazy Runners; Ages 8-14: These young runners will be challenged based on their ability; this program is appropriate for the beginning runner or a young athlete who has finished lots of races! The 8 weeks of training teach the qualities of “what it takes” to be a good runner and athlete: goals and determination, endurance, strength, speed, flexibility, & good nutrition.

Teen Crazy Runners; Ages 13-17: Our teen Crazy Runners are learning more about structured training. Our Crazy Running Teen workouts are perfect for 13-17 year olds who would like a fun, social way to get fit and move. Workouts will include some running, general strength work, mobility and flexibility. Crazy Running Teen workouts will have an emphasis on getting a great cardio and strength workout while having fun together. Workouts will be appropriate for any teenager, no running experience required!

Youth Programs

Winter Conditioning

Crazy Running – Winter Conditioning, one of our most popular training sessions, 8-weeks of endurance, strength and speed development for youth ages 5 – 14. Sixty-minute workouts are designed and led by a USA Track and Field certified coach. Workouts include running, stretching, strength training, running form work, plyometrics, speed development and more! The Crazy Running program motivates, encourages, and challenges young athletes to push themselves, improve their fitness and develop their athletic ability. We find that athletes do benefit from participating one day per week, but find that the athletes that participate more than one day per week grow more athletically. Crazy Running Winter Conditioning will help the young athlete: be more prepared for spring sports, increase speed and endurance, improve core strength, increase overall fitness in the off-season, become a stronger athlete! Play Crazy, Run Hard!

Summer Training

We know families usually have a full summer schedule planned. In an effort to keep kids active over the summer and get them away from computer screens we are offering flexible programming. We will host Crazy Running sessions 3 days each week and with the purchase of a punch card you can attend the number of practices that work for your summer schedule. If you plan on being around all summer we would love for you to join us for every single summer practice.

Summer Track & Field

This is a program designed to teach young athletes the fundamentals of Track and Field – jumps, hurdles, sprints and distance events! Athletes will do lots of running, sprinting, jumping, bounding, stretching, speed development, endurance development, form drills, strength exercises and more! This program is GREAT EXERCISE, awesome conditioning, and speed development! Be sure to bring a water bottle, wear comfortable athletic shoes, and athletic gear.

Summer Speedsters

Our Summer Speedsters program will have a focus on getting kids prepared for fall sports. There will be a conditioning component and a speed development component. Each practice will follow a similar structure with a warmup run, form running drills, a workout, a cool down run, and stretches. Our workouts include lots of running, plyometrics, sprints, agility drills, and hills.  As with all of our Crazy Running programs we disguise our workouts with fun games and team challenges. Coaching Philosophy

Progress over perfection.

I believe every athlete has the ability to grow, and that growth does not look the same for everyone. As a coach, my goal is to create a positive and encouraging environment where athletes feel supported as they challenge themselves, build confidence, and celebrate their progress.Running is a journey filled with successes, setbacks, and lessons along the way. I remind my athletes that it is not about how you start, but how you finish that matters. Whether you are taking your first steps as a runner or working toward a new personal goal, every step forward counts. My philosophy is simple: show up, give your best, keep progressing, and have fun along the way. I want every athlete to leave practice knowing they are capable of more than they may have believed when they arrived.
